The Citroën ZX is a compact C-segment hatchback produced from 1991 to 1998. Positioned between the AX and the Xantia in Citroën’s lineup, it played an important role in modernizing the brand’s compact offering during the 1990s. It was available in three- and five-door hatchback versions, as well as a station wagon variant.

One of the ZX’s notable features was its well-balanced handling, enhanced by a passive rear-wheel steering system that improved cornering stability. It was offered with a wide range of gasoline and diesel engines, from fuel-efficient daily drivers to sportier trims such as the ZX Volcane.

Practical, comfortable, and dependable, the Citroën ZX strengthened the brand’s position in the European compact market. It was eventually replaced by the Xsara, continuing Citroën’s evolution in the C-segment.
