The Lancia Gamma is a luxury sedan and coupe produced from 1976 to 1984, developed to showcase Lancia’s engineering ambition and comfort-oriented philosophy in the executive car segment. Positioned above the Lancia Beta, the Gamma emphasized refinement, interior space, and long-distance driving comfort rather than outright sportiness.

One of its most distinctive features was its front-mounted flat-four (boxer) engine driving the front wheels, an unusual configuration for a large luxury car of its era. The Gamma offered a smooth ride, stable handling, and a spacious, well-appointed cabin, while the Coupé version featured elegant styling by Pininfarina. Although innovative, early reliability issues affected its reputation, making the Gamma a niche model today, appreciated mainly by collectors and Lancia enthusiasts for its originality and character.
