From late 2008 on the Y12 chassis, the Mitsubishi Lancer Cargo, Nissan AD (commercial van) and Nissan Wingroad (passenger-oriented wagon) are mechanically identical underpinnings. The Lancer Cargo is simply Mitsubishi’s badge-engineered variant of the AD Van platform, while the Wingroad adds more passenger comfort and trim.
The Nissan AD is a compact van and light commercial vehicle primarily designed for urban deliveries and small-business use. Offered in cargo and passenger wagon configurations, the AD emphasizes practical load space, low running costs and simple, durable mechanicals. Its boxy profile, sliding doors on some versions and efficient small-displacement engines make it a common choice for fleets, couriers and tradespeople in markets where compact utility and reliability matter.
