The Nissan Terrano is a compact SUV / off-road vehicle introduced in the late 1980s. Depending on the market and generation, the Terrano nameplate has been applied to different vehicles, ranging from traditional body-on-frame 4x4 models to more modern crossover-style SUVs.

The original Terrano was closely related to the first-generation Nissan Pathfinder, featuring rugged construction suitable for off-road use. It was offered in three- and five-door configurations with four-wheel drive and a range of gasoline and diesel engines.

In later years, the Terrano name was reused in certain markets for more urban-oriented compact SUVs, emphasizing comfort, efficiency, and everyday practicality. This reflects the broader shift in the SUV segment from pure off-road capability to versatile family transportation.
