Suzuki Vitara - Versions & models

The names Suzuki Escudo, Suzuki Vitara, and Suzuki Grand Vitara refer to the same compact SUV line, marketed under different names depending on region and generation. In Japan, the model has traditionally been sold as the Suzuki Escudo, while Vitara is used in most international markets. The Grand Vitara name was introduced to identify larger, more powerful, and better-equipped versions, while retaining genuine off-road capabilities such as four-wheel drive and, on some generations, a low-range transfer case.

The Chevrolet Grand Vitara is a rebadged version of the Suzuki Grand Vitara, sold in selected markets as part of industrial cooperation between Suzuki and General Motors.
