The VAZ 2108, also known internationally as the Lada Samara, marked a major step forward for AvtoVAZ when it was introduced in the 1980s. It was the brand’s first front-wheel-drive car and featured a modern hatchback design compared to the more traditional Lada sedans. The 2108 offered improved handling, lighter construction, and better fuel efficiency, helping Lada expand its presence in export markets and modernize its image.
