The Zastava Yugo is an ultra-affordable city car produced from 1980 to 2008 in the former Yugoslavia. Based on Fiat underpinnings, it features simple mechanicals-rear-wheel drive, inline-4 engines, and basic suspension. While criticized for minimal safety and comfort, the Yugo became famous for its low price and ease of maintenance, gaining a cult following in export markets like the United States.

The Yugo Koral is the factory model name while “Yugo” is the export badge under which the same compact car was sold abroad. Mechanically identical across markets with only minor trim or equipment changes, the pair represents Zastava’s low-cost city car strategy and its mixed legacy of extreme affordability and limited refinement.
