The Alfa Romeo 156 is a compact executive sedan introduced in 1997, known for its distinctive Italian design and engaging driving dynamics. Designed by Walter de Silva, it features a sleek and elegant body with hidden rear door handles on the sedan version. Built with front-wheel drive (and later all-wheel drive in some variants), it was offered with a range of petrol and diesel engines, including Alfa Romeo’s Twin Spark and JTD units. The 156 played a key role in revitalizing the brand and won the European Car of the Year award in 1998.
