The Toyota GT86 is a lightweight, rear-wheel-drive sports coupe developed jointly by Toyota and Subaru. Introduced in 2012, it features a front-mounted, naturally aspirated 2.0-liter flat-four petrol engine, a low center of gravity, and a balanced chassis designed to deliver precise handling and an engaging driving experience. Available with manual or automatic transmissions, the GT86 emphasizes agility and driver involvement rather than outright power. Closely related to the Subaru BRZ and Scion FR-S, it combines compact dimensions, a 2+2 seating layout, and classic sports car proportions. It was succeeded by the Toyota GR86.
