The Toyota Camry, Toyota Vista, Toyota Scepter, Toyota Aurion, Daihatsu Altis, and Holden Apollo are closely related mid-size and large family cars developed or marketed through Toyota's international vehicle platforms. The Camry serves as the central model, while the Vista and Scepter represent closely related Japanese-market variants from specific generations. The Daihatsu Altis and Holden Apollo were rebadged versions of the Camry, whereas the Toyota Aurion was developed as a more distinct derivative with market-specific styling and positioning. Although their relationships vary by generation and region, these models share important engineering foundations and illustrate Toyota's global approach to platform sharing, regional branding, and family sedan development.

The Toyota Scepter is a mid-size family car marketed in Japan during the 1990s as a version of the wide-body Toyota Camry developed for international markets. Based on the XV10 generation, it was offered in sedan, station wagon, and coupe body styles, combining spacious interiors with comfortable road manners and practical equipment. Available with four-cylinder and V6 petrol engines, front-wheel drive, and automatic transmissions, the Scepter emphasized refinement, reliability, and everyday versatility. Unlike the narrower Japanese-market Camry of the same period, it featured the larger dimensions and styling of the export-oriented model, reflecting Toyota's approach to adapting its global vehicle range for domestic customers.
